A college degree is not a guarantee of a fruitful and faithful adult life, and for the young person wanting to pursue this path, the decisions facing them are complex. With so many choices, how does one know which is best aligned with the person they hope to become? I address a somewhat niche topic in this bonus episode, but one I have been asked often in one form or another: How did your children choose the colleges they attend?
While I do not mention or advocate for any specific colleges or universities, in this 30-minute episode, I do share some of the questions and conversations that have helped shape the process and, ultimately, our children’s final college choices. The specifics will vary by person and family, but I hope the ideas will serve as a robust springboard for your home, too. To note, I do not focus on whether or not the college option is right for a person nor on the admissions process. To keep this episode focused, I am speaking on how to help guide the selection process when a young person decides on that aim.
I have also included a downloadable “College Prospects” PDF below that I created for our children to help make and compare notes along the way.
